Hiatus Spa + Retreat would like to invite guests to “Spa for a Cause” to support the Peabody Fund: The Cancer Vaccine Project , in efforts to help directly fund a personalized vaccine trial lead by Dr. Ezra Cohen, UCSD Associate Director of Translational Science, and Co-Director of the newly established San Diego Center for Personalized Immunotherapy. The Peabody Fund was created in memory of Kristin Heaton-Peabody, who was a co-founder of Hiatus Spa + Retreat. (Hiatus Spa + Retreat, 2021)

For the month of October, Hiatus is offering a special discount of 10% off all online product purchases and will then donate 10% of all “Spa for a Cause” proceeds from e-commerce sales to the Peabody Fund: The Cancer Vaccine Project using code PEABODY10. Hiatus brands available online for purchase include Aveda, FOREO, HydroPeptide, SkinCeuticals, Elta MD, Revitalash, NuFace devices, and the Hiatus Everyday product line that features two collections –The Weekend Collection and The Spa Day Collection–and includes over 20 products, such as aroma oil, hand and body wash, body butter, hand sanitizer, lip scrub, and more.

“We celebrate our friend Kristin’s life in the most meaningful way that we can, by continuing our efforts in the battle against cancer by having the beneficiary of Spa for a Cause as Peabody Fund: The Cancer Vaccine Project which is very near and dear to all of our hearts at Hiatus. By teaming up with the Peabody Fund, we hope to play a role in saving the friends, family members and loved ones of those that are fighting cancer. Kristin would be happy knowing that a business she helped create is helping fellow cancer warriors in this way.” – Hiatus Spa + Retreat Co-founders Sheila and Bill Garrison.

Proceeds from Spa for a Cause will directly benefit the trial by Dr. Cohen, who is doing some of the most innovative work in cancer research today including a laboratory-proven science that hypothesizes the personalized vaccine trial could reactivate a T-cell immune response, in which a patient’s own immune system would find and eliminate their cancer. Those who want to make a contribution toward the Peabody Fund: The Cancer Vaccine today can donate here.
