WellMed and Blessed Angels Community Center offering COVID-19 vaccination

WellMed Charitable Foundation is teaming up with Blessed Angels Community Center to offer the one-dose Johnson & Johnson/Janssen (J&J) COVID-19 shot. Everyone who gets the vaccination will receive a free Fiesta Texas ticket provided by the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, and will have a chance to win one of 100 Visa gift cards worth $50, courtesy of Kym Rapier Verette. People who pre-register will receive a box lunch from Jason’s Deli, provided by the community center. Visit SignUp to register. Walk-ins will also be accepted. (WellMed, 2021)

There will be a drawing to win $50 Visa gift cards every 15 minutes until all 100 are given away. Insurance is not required. Vaccines are free to anyone 18 and older who has not previously received a COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of Texas residency required.

San Marcos Premium Outlets hosts safety fair

San Marcos Premium Outlets will host a safety fair this Saturday October 13. 

This weekend, San Marcos Premium Outlets is hosting a day of safety education and is inviting area families to take advantage of this family friendly event. The Safety Fair will be held on Saturday, October 13 from 12p.m.to 3p.m. and will feature various activities and exhibits that focus on safety awareness for the entire family, including face painting, caricature drawings and free child ID kits. There will also be a meet and greet with city emergency personnel and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a fire house simulator and fire truck tours. (San Marcos Premium Outlets, 2018)

San Marcos Premium Outlets will also host a blood drive from 10a.m. to 2p.m. in the parking lot. Interested donors can sign up online. The first 200 attendees will receive a free, emergency “Go Bag” and first aid kit. It will be a day of giveaways, exclusive discounts and more. This event is free and open to the public.
