Gran Moreno Unleashes New Single “Temple of Fire” Ahead of Debut Album El Sol

This week, Austin duo Gran Moreno released their newest single, “Temple of Fire,” now available on all major streaming platforms. The track originally premiered via The Obelisk, offering an early glimpse into the band’s evolving sonic universe. (US/THEM Group, 2025)

A New Force in Psychedelic Rock

Gran Moreno is quickly emerging as one of the most compelling voices in the new wave of psychedelic rock. Their sound, rooted in analog warmth, expansive textures, and hypnotic grooves, creates an immersive experience that blurs the line between distortion and introspection. With heavy rhythms, emotionally charged melodies, and atmospheric layers, their music feels like a sonic mirage: shifting, evocative, and deeply felt.

A Conceptual Debut: El Sol and La Luna

At the heart of Gran Moreno’s artistry is a dedication to storytelling through sound. Their upcoming debut album is a conceptual, two-part experience:

  • Side A: El Sol — urgency, energy, and clarity
  • Side B: La Luna — shadow, mystery, and reflection

The first release, El Sol, captures the band at full intensity, offering a vivid and unfiltered introduction to their creative identity.

A Live Experience That Transcends the Stage

Gran Moreno’s live performances elevate their music into a full-body encounter. Blending sonic power with rich visual elements, their shows draw audiences into a shared trance, one that feels both deeply personal and profoundly communal. Their fierce independence and bold creativity continue to shape a musical world entirely their own.

Ally Venable’s ‘Do You Cry’ Delivers Raw Emotion and Soulful Power

Ally Venable shares her new song ‘Do You Cry,’ a heartfelt exploration of lost love. Courtesy photo, used with permission.

Texas blues-rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist Ally Venable is back with a poignant new single, Do You Cry,” a soul-stirring ballad that dives deep into the emotional complexities of heartbreak and lost love. The song, which marks a raw departure into the more vulnerable corners of Venable’s musical identity, is available now on all streaming platforms. (Big Hassle, 2024)

“The song explores the raw, vulnerable experience of heartbreak and the complex emotions that come with it. I wrote ‘Do You Cry’ about the bittersweet reality of lost love. I hope this song can connect with listeners on a deeply personal level.” – Ally Venable

Known for her electrifying live performances, signature glitter dresses, and black knee-high boots, Ally Venable is a force in the blues-rock world. Guitar Player Magazine describes her as an artist who “pulls off a stunner of gritty and/or sultry blues rock tunes embellished with lots of tasty guitar solos.” With a musical journey rooted in the blues and nurtured through early influences like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Ally has steadily built a reputation as one of the most exciting and dynamic guitarists and songwriters of her generation.

Born in Kilgore, Texas, Ally Venable began singing at age four and picked up the guitar at age 12. By 13, she was leading her own band, already drawing from her deep love for the blues. Her early albums, No Glass Shoes (2016) and Puppet Show (2018), earned her local acclaim and charted radio play. However, it was her 2019 release, Texas Honey, which pushed her to international recognition, debuting at #2 on the Billboard Blues chart and establishing Ally as one of the brightest stars in the genre.

Her 2021 album Heart of Fire, which also charted on the Blues Billboard charts, featured collaborations with music legends like Kenny Wayne Shepherd and highlighted Ally’s ability to write about love, pain, and overcoming adversity.“On this album, I really wanted to create a tone of overcoming your struggles and persevering through them, she shared.

Ally’s most recent release, Real Gone (2023), produced by Grammy-winning Tom Hambridge, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts and included collaborations with blues icons Buddy Guy and Joe Bonamassa. This spring, she was named #2 on Guitar World’s list of Top 15 Young Guns Making the Gibson Les Paul Cool Again and received the Road Warrior Award at the Independent Blues Music Awards.

In addition to her solo tours, Ally’s band has supported legends like Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Colin James, and she has performed alongside fellow guitar icons on the Experience Hendrix tour and at ACL Live in Austin, Texas.

Looking ahead, Ally Venable will be part of the highly anticipated Experience Hendrix Tour in 2025, where she will share the stage with musical heavyweights like Samantha Fish, Devon Allman, Eric Johnson, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and many more.

With her new single Do You Cry, Ally Venable proves once again that her artistry continues to evolve, offering her audience a more intimate and introspective side of her music. Fans old and new will find comfort in the vulnerability and soulfulness of this beautifully crafted song.

Know that you can always reclaim your power and remember to stand strong in who you are. We needed the video to show that when your down grit and perseverance are all you need to make it. New album release: When It All Goes Down – Sarah King

Sarah King’s new album When It All Goes Down is available now. Courtesy photo, used with permission.

Award-winning singer-songwriter-guitarist Sarah King makes her long-awaited full-length solo debut with When It All Goes Down, exploring life’s seismic shifts via her own singular strain of Gothic Americana. Produced, engineered, and arranged by David Baron, the album sees King weaving classic rock ‘n’ roll, Southern soul, true country, and primal folk-blues into something inspiring and cathartic, deeply personal yet wholly universal. Fired by King’s spellbinding, seen-it-all vocals and rock solid rhythm guitar, songs like “The Longest Night” and the empowering, anthemic title track are haunting, oft-times harrowing, tales of impossible guilt and inconsolable grief, of raising hell (and the repercussions that follow), of how to stand face to face with the Devil himself yet somehow emerge bigger, better, and badder than before. (One In A Million Media, 2024)

Currently residing in the Green Mountains of Vermont, in a tiny log cabin without cell reception, Sarah King has walked many a hard road to reach When It All Goes Down. New England born and raised, King spent her early twenties down South, playing in a GA-based rock ‘n’ roll band and generally “growing up, a.k.a. becoming an adult.” She eventually moved back north but found herself at a crossroads, slightly burnt out but driven by an evolving passion for front porch folk and traditional blues, hard times music as real and true now as it was nearly a century ago.

A captivating and engaging live performer, King is keen to bring her cathartic blues to life on stage both as a solo artist and bandleader. Rich with rare integrity, earnest emotion, and a restless energy born of extraordinary experience, When It All Goes Down captures an acutely authentic artist exploring her spirit and songcraft in an effort to reach a place that’s both true and transcendent not only in herself, but in all those who also call upon the power of music in their time of need.

“My stories are folk stories,” says Sarah King. “Of the people, for the people, by the people (I’m a person). These are songs for folks who’ve lived through some shit and want some music that doesn’t shy away from that.”

When It All Goes Down track list:

1. Lord Take My Soul
2. Always an Almost
3. When It All Goes Down
4. The Longest Night

6. Stronger Than You Ever Knew

Over a pulsating rhythm section and moody guitar arpeggios, the widely-beloved voice of songwriter’s songwriter Kim Richey delivers the opening line to her first new music in four years: “So here we go, another day on the water / The sun is shining but we never dive in.” The song is “Floating On The Surface” and it’s the first single to be released from Every New Beginning. Featuring ten songs spanning from more recent writes to decade-old puzzle pieces, finally finding a home on Richey’s 10th studio album, Every New Beginning highlights not just the songs of a master tunesmith—some co-written with fellow greats like Aaron Lee Tasjan and Brian Wright—but a career-defining performance from the voice which Brandi Carlile has cited as formative in crafting her own style.

Every New Beginning manages to continue the throughline of Richey’s nearly 30-year career while simultaneously adding a new chapter. Upcoming new album release: Innocent Allies – Cary Morin

Cary Morin’s upcoming album Innocent Allies takes inspiration from famed western painter Charles M. Russell. It will be out January 26, 2024. Photo: Google

Internationally acclaimed as a mesmerizing live performer, Cary Morin’s soul-stirring voice and jaw-dropping fingerstyle guitar playing have captivated audiences for decades. Morin’s career catalog fuses the best of American roots music: blues, folk, soul, bluegrass, and the timeless and distinctive sounds of the rural countryside, from the Western Plains and Rocky Mountains to the rhythmic melting pot of the deep South. His music has reached millions through prestigious performances at venues like the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center as well as national television and radio programs. He has shared stages with Taj Mahal, Los Lobos, and Bonnie Raitt, among countless others, while earning multiple awards including two Indigenous Music Awards for Best Blues CD. When not performing across the US and Europe, Morin finds inspiration in Northern Colorado, which he proudly calls home. (IV-PR, 2023)

With Innocent Allies—due for release on January 26, 2024—Morin observes details in Charles M. Russell’s painting from his perspective as a Native Crow and sets them to song. “Situations depicted in his paintings that might not be obvious to some are subtle cultural or ritualistic details,” says Morin, pointing out Russell’s Indian Hunters Return, in which an elder is being served their meal first; a customary gesture in Crow culture. “As an Indigenous artist, I bring a perspective to this aspect of Charlie’s work by way of this body of songs.” Morin is also quick to note that Charles M. Russell was a friend to the Plains Tribes, concerned with the destruction of Native culture and portraying Native Americans in his paintings with a dignity that was largely absent from other artists’ portrayals of the time. “This record is a masterpiece worthy of its place among the great works of art it was created to honor,” says Trina Shoemaker, the Grammy-winning producer who mixed and mastered the album at her Alabama studio.

Morin shared the first single from Innocent Allies: the impetus for the album itself, “Big Sky Sun Goes Down.” Fans can watch the music video for “Big Sky Sun Goes Down”—produced by Randy Perkins & Film Locale—and stream or purchase the single.
