iFLY hosts STEM field trip for Deerpark Middle School students

On Friday, May 21, iFLY Indoor Skydiving hosted a STEM field trip for Deerpark Middle School, a local Title I school, at the Austin tunnel with special guest Daniel Suárez, NASCAR driver from Monterrey, Mexico, and iFLY National STEM Education Director Michelle Brumley, co-sponsored by Trackhouse Racing Team. iFLY Austin hosted 60 students from Deerpark Middle School for a STEM-specific field trip delivered by Brumley that featured an interactive presentation, including a physics demonstration in the wind tunnel, experimental STEM activities, safety training, flight time for each student, and a guest appearance by NASCAR driver Suárez. Suárez suited up and took flight inside the iFLY tunnel as part of the STEM presentation. Deerpark Middle School students were able to meet NASCAR driver Suárez—piloting the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro throughout 2021—sponsored by iFLY.

Trackhouse Racing Team is planning to launch a racing-themed STEM curriculum within the SLAM! (Sports Leadership Arts and Management) inner-city charter schools, community organizations, and youth groups to inspire those who want to pursue STEM careers. GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar and co-owner of Trackhouse Racing Pitbull and founder/co-owner of Trackhouse Racing Justin Marks plan to amplify the sport’s influence around the world by impacting the lives of the underrepresented and creating a movement of positivity and possibility using the platform and excitement of sports and music.

Circuit of the Americas food drive

On Sunday, May 10 from 12p.m. to 5p.m. Circuit of the Americas (COTA) will be collecting donations for Central Texas Food Bank and allowing guests a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to take a drive on the world-famous 3.4 mile track. This will be a parade of unity, hope and fun for the Central Texas community.  Join friends and neighbors safely from inside your vehicle as you ascend the iconic “Turn 1” hill, weave through the challenging “esses” at Turn 3 and 4 and cruise down the same back stretch as the greatest Formula 1 have done. Donations are recommended, but not required to participate. This is an experience as unique as Austin. (Circuit of the Americas, 2020)

Germania Insurance will match up to $10,000 of donations and COTA and Austin Bold FC will match Germania’s donation to $10,000. Donations can also be done online. Please keep in mind that $1.00 can produce up to four meals. If you choose to donate cash or non-perishable items, “touchless” locations will be available for self-drop-off in the COTA garages.

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) announced last week that they will welcome two world-renowned musical acts to the Super Stage at the FORMULA 1 2019 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX. On Saturday, November 2, 20-time GRAMMY® nominated and international pop icon P!NK, who is sure to ‘get the party started’ and give fans an unforgettable performance, will take the Super Stage at COTA. The night prior, Friday, November 1, GRAMMY® Award-winning band Imagine Dragons will start the weekend on a high note after the first day of qualifying races. (Circuit of the Americas, 2019)

 

Tickets for the FORMULA 1 2019 UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX, set for November 1-3, will go on sale Tuesday, April 23 at 1a.m. online at Circuit of the Americas.

Currently in the midst of her extended Beautiful Trauma World Tour, P!NK brings her truly spectacular show to the Super Stage at COTA Saturday night of USGP weekend. P!NK is known for her powerhouse vocals, uplifting anthems and showman stage skills. Imagine Dragons will bring the crowd to their feet on Friday night of the Grand Prix weekend when they bring their limitless passion and genre-bending music to Austin, Texas. Imagine Dragons has emerged as one of the biggest and most compelling rock bands in the world. The Las Vegas-based group released their latest album, Origins, in November 2018 and have seen great chart-topping success with the powerhouse single “Natural” and epic balladry of “Bad Liar.”

COTA will once again offer the rain plan guarantee. Should it rain over 1.5 inches within the 24 hr period leading up to the race, all three-day RESERVED seats purchased before August 31 will get a 105% of ticket price back. Three-day race tickets, which include access to both headlining concerts along with other featured entertainment, start at $175. Sunday-only bleachers and Sunday-only Main Grandstand tickets will also be available for purchase, along with premium on-track viewing upgrades for both concerts.

Tickets now on sale for IndyCar Classic at Circuit of The Americas

On Wednesday November 14 at a press conference event at the McNay Art Museum, Circuit of The Americas, IndyCar driver Simon Pagenaud, retired Spurs player Brent Barry and Red McCombs announced that tickets are now on sale online for the IndyCar CLASSIC event to be held at Circuit of the Americas from Friday March 22 through Sunday March 24, 2019. The IndyCar CLASSIC Series will make its debut on the Circuit of The Americas track. The Austin race will be the second of the series and will include the stars comprising the iconic Indianapolis 500. In addition to witnessing premier-level open-wheel racing in Austin, fans will get the chance to experience English rock band MUSE perform on the Super Stage at Circuit of The Americas on Saturday, March 23.

North America’s top open-wheel racing series, IndyCar CLASSIC is the newest race to join Formula 1, World Rallycross and Pirelli World Challenge at Circuit of The Americas in showcasing this state-of-the-art motor sports facility.

Live Nation, C3 Presents and Circuit of The Americas (COTA) recently announced the performance order for the 45th edition of Willie’s 4th of July Picnic on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. This year’s 4th of July Picnic will once again feature two stages: the main Austin360 Amphitheater stage and the Honor Flight Grand Plaza Stage. The all-day event celebrating America’s birthday features performances starting at 11:30a.m. on the Honor Flight Stage. This year’s picnic is excited to announce a very special guest to present the fireworks display to commemorate the show and to celebrate America’s birthday. (Circuit of the Americas, 2018)

The Grand Plaza will have picnic tables where fans can eat, drink, celebrate and watch their favorite artists, as well as a shopping area featuring a wide variety of Texas-based vendors.

Tickets are priced at $99.50 for the GA Pit Section and Reserved Seat Section in front of the stage. Reserved bowl tickets are $52.50–$99.50 and $42.50 for H-E-B General Admission Lawn. All tickets are available for purchase at Ticketmaster, Circuit of the Americas, or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

Standard parking lots at Circuit of The Americas open at 10a.m. and gates to the Austin360 Amphitheater open at 11a.m. Standard parking is included in the price of the ticket. Premium parking, bus parking, RV parking, as well as campsites are also available to buy at the time tickets are purchased.

As the event is scheduled to run for approximately 13 hours, venue management is extending the opportunity for patrons to bring in one (1) 1-quart-sized clear plastic bag with food, per person, for Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic. Standard venue policy allows patrons to bring in one (1) 20 oz. factory-sealed water bottle, per person.

Willie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic will be broadcast live on Willie Nelson’s exclusive SiriusXM channel, Willie’s Roadhouse, Channel 59 on SiriusXM radios and streaming live on the new SiriusXM mobile app and SiriusXM connected devices and speakers. In addition to live sets, the broadcast will include backstage interviews hosted by Willie’s Roadhouse and Outlaw Country DJs Dallas Wayne and Willie’s daughter, Paula Nelson.
