Raw, Real, and Relentless: De’Wayne Delivers with ‘highway robbery’

Los Angeles, CA – Houston-born and Los Angeles-based rock star De’Wayne is ushering in a new era of music with the electric single “highway robbery.” Accompanied by a striking music video that brings the song’s rebellious spirit to life, De’Wayne is setting the stage for a bold new chapter. This song is a high-energy anthem that captures De’Wayne in his purest form, blending shimmery guitars, soulful funk-infused vocals, and irresistible, two-step-ready drums. Produced in collaboration with Dylan Bauld (flor) the track channels influence from Ohio Players to Nina Simone to Bruce Springsteen while remaining unapologetically modern and true to himself.

Following the release of his 2024 EP I Want You More Than Anybody Wants You, De’Wayne has solidified himself as a force to be reckoned with. Constantly pushing boundaries, he is redefining Black rock music one song at a time.

With “highway robbery,” he establishes himself as a fearless trailblazer in rock, fusing genres with raw authenticity. De’Wayne is on a mission to show the world that neither people nor music should be confined to one box.

In the wake of the latter, UPSET placed him on its cover and urged, “it’s time to sit up and pay attention” to De’Wayne. KERRANG! went as far as to christen him “one of the most electrifying new performers in the alt. world today.” He has established himself as the rare force of nature equally comfortable on a track with either Chase Atlantic and Masego, IDKHOW, Waterparks, grandson, WILLOW, Good Charlotte, and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine.

Beyond headlining packed shows on multiple continents, De’Wayne and his band have ignited festival stages at Gov Ball, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, Bonnaroo, and BottleRock.

New York, NY – The platinum certified rock band 311 is back with the announcement of their highly anticipated 14th studio album, Full Bloom, out October 25. In celebration, the band has released their new track and visualizer for “Need Somebody,” out now. With more than 10 million records sold in just the United States alone, 311 has never been hotter. Having just wrapped a successful headlining US run of their “Unity Tour,” one of the most successful tours of the their 34 year history, they are known to emphasize the importance of community through the lens of communication and connection. 

Full Bloom is 311’s first full length project in 5 years following their album Voyager in 2019. Attempted Lover: What’s New in Sueco’s Sophomore Album

Platinum-certified singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Sueco has released his highly anticipated sophomore album, Attempted Lover. This is Sueco’s first independently released album showcasing his dynamic, experimental sound, which combines alternative rock, emo-rap, and punk elements. He channels the spirit of nineties punk through a 21st-century lens, tapping into the unpredictability of hyperpop, the catharsis of hardcore, and a whole lot of hip-hop finesse. The album highlights his raw vocals, meant to be played at full volume through listeners’ speakers. He had a few singles off of the album released leading up to this including the stripped-back song “Mulholland Drive,” fast-paced anthem “Drama Queen.” His most recent single is the heavy alt-rock banger “Outta My Head,” which hit #1 on trending audio for Instagram reels, further showcasing fans’ anticipation for the album release.

“I put this album together after coming home from a year and a half of non-stop touring. It was really nostalgic for me skating around the streets I grew up on, and I decided to set up a studio in the garage of my dad’s house where I started making music about 15 years ago. I looked through about 200 demos, piecing together some of the best songs I could find, and this album is what came out of it.” – Sueco

Earlier this summer, Sueco announced his North American tour supporting the album, kicking off September 13 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Supporting him on this tour will be the newly formed rock band GXTP, fronted by hit producer Poo Bear.

In concert news: Mexican rock band Molotov will be playing in San Antonio on Wednesday December 6, 2023 at The Espee (1174 E Commerce St. San Antonio, TX).

After more than three decades rocking stages worldwide, iconic alt-rock innovators, Molotov has earned the reputation as the most powerful band in Mexico, and international recognition as one of the pillars of rock-en-español. The band, who recently changed management teams and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Latin Grammy’s ‘23, will be playing at San Antonio’s The Espee on December 6. Tickets are available HERE. After an advanced screening of the new album I can say that overall the new music has a sharp, crisp, and grooving feel that will please fans of the genre. The artist’s hard work and dedication comes through in each song and I commended him for sharing his craft with music fans. If you enjoy hip hop and R&B, this album should be on your to buy list. It should be noted that it contains adult themes and language.
