The movie adaptation of ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ by Jenny Han is now on Netflix. 

Jenny Han is The New York Times’ bestselling author of young adult fiction and children’s fiction. She is best known for The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy and the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series, which includes ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,’ ‘P.S. I Still Love Your’ and ‘Always and Forever, Lara Jean.’ ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ is about a teenage girl whose secret love letters to past crushes are made public. The movie adaptation stars Lana Condor, Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart and John Corbett and was released by Netflix on August 17, 2018.

According to Amazon, ‘To All the Boys I’ve Love Before’ is the story of a sixteen-year-old half-Korean, half-Caucasian girl named Lara Jean Song who keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They are not love letters that anyone else wrote for her but rather letters that she has written – one for every boy she has ever loved; five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life because these letter are private. Until the day her secret letters are mailed and her love life changes from imaginary to out of control.

Movie adaptation: ‘Black Klansman’ by Ron Stallworth

The movie adaptation of Ron Stallworth’s ‘The Black Klansman’ is now in theaters.

Ron Stallworth is a highly-decorated law enforcement veteran who worked undercover narcotics, vice, criminal intelligence and organized crime beats in four states. As the first African-American police officer and detective in the Colorado Springs, Colorado Police Department, he overcame fierce racial hostility to achieve a long and distinguished career in law enforcement. In his memoir ‘Black Klansman: Race, Hate, and the Undercover Investigation of a Lifetime’ he writes about his experiences as he sets out to infiltrate and expose the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s. The movie adaptation written and directed by Spike Lee is now in theaters and stars John David Washington, Adam Driver, Laura Harrier and Topher Grace.

According to Amazon, ‘Black Klansman’ is the extraordinary true story of Ron Stallworth who comes across a classified ad in the local paper asking for all those interested in joining the Ku Klux Klan to contact a PO Box. He responds using his real name while posing as a white man. He thought he would only receive information through the mail, but a few weeks later he receives a phone call asking if he would like to join their cause. Ron recruits his partner Chuck to play the ‘white’ Stallworth and thus begins one of the most incredible undercover investigations in history. During this investigation, he sabotages cross burnings, exposes white supremacists in the military and befriends the Grand Wizard of the KKK himself, David Duke.

Movie adaptation: ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ by Kevin Kwan

Kevin Kwan is a Singaporean-American novelist best known for his satirical novels that comprise the Crazy Rich Asians Trilogy. He was named as one of the ‘Five Writers to Watch’ on The Hollywood Reporter’s list of Hollywood’s Most Powerful Authors. In 2018, he made Time magazine’s list of 100 most influential people and was inducted into The Asian Hall of Fame. ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ follows a young Asian American woman who travels to meet her boyfriend’s family, only to find out they are one of the richest families in Singapore. It became a best seller and is followed by ‘China Rich Girlfriend’ and ‘Rich People Problems.’ Kwan once stated that this intention in writing ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ was to introduce a contemporary Asia to a North American audience and that it is loosely based on his own childhood in Singapore. The movie adaptation of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ will be released on Wednesday August 15 and stars Constance Wu, Henry Golding and Gemma Chan.

According to Amazon, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ is the story of New Yorker Rachel Chu who agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend Nicholas Young. She pictures a humble family home and quality time with the man she hopes to marry someday. What Nicholas failed to tell her is that his childhood home looks like a palace, that he grew up riding in more private planes than cars and that he just happens to be the country’s most eligible bachelor. On Nick’s arm, Rachel may as well have a target on her back as soon as she steps off the plane. Movie adaptation: ‘Ready Player One’ by Ernest Cline

Ernest Cline is an American novelist, slam poet and screenwriter best known for his debut novel ‘Ready Player One’ and ‘Armada.’ His 2009 movie Fanboys became a cult phenomenon and he recently co-wrote the screenplay for the upcoming movie adaptation of ‘Ready Player One,’ with Steven Spielberg as director. ‘Ready Player One’ is a science fiction novel about a teenager and his search for an Easter egg in a worldwide virtual reality game where the winner inherits the game creator’s fortune. The movie adaptation stars Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, Simon Pegg and Mark Rylance and opens in theaters on Thursday March 29, 2018.

The movie adaptation, Love, Simon, starring Nick Robinson, Josh Duhamel and Jennifer Garner is now in theaters.

The movie adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ is now in theaters.

Madeleine L’Engle was an American writer best known for her young adult novels including ‘A Wrinkle in Time,’ ‘A Wind in the Door,’ ‘A Swiftly Tilting Planet,’ ‘Many Waters’ and ‘An Acceptable Time.’ She received the 1963 Newbery Medal for ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ and together with the two sequels, these books are known as The Time Trilogy. It tells the story of a young girl who, after her father disappears after discovering a new planet, sets off on a quest to find him with the help of three astral travelers. The Disney movie adaptation was released this week and stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and Chris Pine.

According to Wikipedia, in ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ the protagonist is thirteen-year-old Meg Murry, who is considered by her classmates as a troublesome and stubborn student. After a visit by their eccentric neighbor, Mrs. Whatsit, she and her younger brother Charles, along with Meg’s classmate Calvin, go visit the local old haunted house where they encounter two companions of Mrs. Whatsit, the equally strange Mrs. Who and the unseen voice of Mrs. Which. She promises Meg that they can help her find and rescue her missing father. They turn out to be supernatural beings who transport Meg, Charles and Calvin through the universe through a folding of the fabric of time and space.

Movie adaptation: ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ by James Dashner

The movie adaptation of the ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ by James Dashner will be out on Friday January 26.

James Dashner is The New York Times’ best-selling author of young adult fantasy novels and best known for the Maze Runner trilogy and 13th Reality series. His first book ‘A Door in the Woods’ was published in 2003 and since then he has written other books dealing with fantasy, adventure and science fiction. His work is often compared to The Hunger Games and Divergent. The Maze Runner trilogy is a post-apocalyptic science fiction series that consists of ‘Maze Runner,’ ‘The Scorch Trials’ and ‘The Death Cure.’ The movie adaptation of the ‘The Death Cure’ is due out in theaters on Friday January 26 and stars Dylan O’Bryan, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Dexter Darden.

According to Amazon, Thomas is back in ‘The Maze Runner,’ after WICKED has taken everything from him, his life, his memories and his friends. The movie adaptation of Heidi McLaughlin’s ‘Forever My Girl’ is now in theaters.

Heidi McLaughlin is the American best-selling author of The Beaumont Series, The Boys of Summer and The Archers. Her first novel from The Beaumont Series, ‘Forever My Girl,’ is about a young rock star who  goes back to his home town years after abandoning his first love. The movie adaptation is now in theaters and stars Alex Roe as Liam Page and Jessica Rothe as Josie.

Palacio is an American author, art director and book jacket designer.   Her previous works include “Auggie & Me: Three Wonder Stories” and “365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne’s Book of Precepts.” She is best known for “Wonder,” her first novel and The New York Times best-seller about Auggie Pullman, an ordinary boy with an extraordinary face. The feature film adaptation is now in theaters everywhere and stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay.

According to Amazon, “Wonder” tells the story of August Pullman who was born with a facial difference that has always prevented him from going to a mainstream school. Now he is starting the fifth grade at Beecher Prep and he wants nothing more than to be treated like an ordinary kid, but his classmates can not get past his looks. Jo Nesbø is a Norwegian writer, musician, former economist and reporter. His books have sold more than 3 million copies in Norway and his work has been translated into over 40 languages and have sold 30 million copies worldwide. He has written several stand-alone novels and the Doctor Proctor series of children’s books but he is best known for his crime novels about Inspector Harry Hole. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Glass Key for best Nordic crime novel. “The Snowman” is the seventh book in the Harry Hole series and the movie adaptation will be released in theaters on Friday October 20, 2017. It stars J.K. Simmons, Val Kilmer, Rebecca Ferguson and Michael Fassbender as Detective Harry Hole.
