Davila’s BBQ Davila’s BBQ will offer a brown bag special available to pick up or to eat in the restaurant on the Fourth of July. The special features two Davila’s freshly ground cheeseburgers with crispy French fries and a fountain drink of choice for $12.99. Davila’s BBQ will be open from 11a.m. to 5p.m. that day.
Pearl
Join Pearl for a Great American Picnic in honor of the Fourth of July. The Bottling Department will offer picnic specials and a special pop out by Bud’s Southern Rotisserie who will be selling BBQ chicken with corn and watermelon, as well as bacon-wrapped jalapeño sausage-on-a-stick for guests to purchase and enjoy while listening to live music by the Peterson Brothers. This event will be free and open to the public in Pearl Park.
Southerleigh
This Fourth of July Southerleigh will offer drink specials at their outdoor oyster bar. Pearl patrons can stop by to get $1 off the famous house punch, frosé, frozen Bellini and canned wines. This is the perfect option for those enjoying Great American Picnic in Pearl Park or who are interested in enjoying the outdoors that day. Southerleigh’s oyster bar is located outside nearest Pearl Park.
La Panaderia
The popular San Antonio bakery will be open to visitors this Fourth of July at both locations so guests can stop in and treat themselves to decadent pan dulce while taking a break from the heat. Guests can also try new menu items at the restaurant, like the La Panaderia Patty Melt, a unique twist on the Texas favorite.
Hotel Emma Hotel Emma will offer the perfect staycation for the Fourth of July. Readers can book a hotel room that week and receive complimentary valet parking, a La Babia Margarita upon check-in to kick off the celebration, nightly turndown service and access to the rooftop pool to cool off in the Texas heat.

Krause’s Double Beef Mushroom Burger
As part of the 5th Annual James Beard Blended Burger Project,™ Krause’s Cafe and Biergarten has vowed to create and offer a sustainable burger that consists of 25% mushrooms. The Double Beef Mushroom Burger is made with Texas Beef Brisket, ground with local Kitchen Pride mushrooms and seasoned with peppered beef jerky, havarti cheese, crisp pancetta, wild arugula and pickled beech mushrooms, all served on a toasted brioche bun. The burger is only available throughout the competition, until July 31, and costs $10. From Monday through Thursday during lunch hours, patrons who order the Double Beef Mushroom Burger will get any of Krause’s other house ground burgers for half price.

June brought the launch of the Caceres brothers’ latest invention, La Panaderia Patty Melt. Davila’s 1/2 Brisket Burger
This specialty burger is a traditional American burger with a Davila’s BBQ Texas twist. The burger comes with a patty meat along with Davila’s specialized mesquite smoked brisket for double the protein and flavor. The burger is then topped off with tomato, onion, lettuce and cheese with optional Jalapeños for an extra kick. Adrian Davila uses his grandfather’s South Texas and Latin techniques, such as smoking meats directly on the embers or in an underground pit, where the traditional vaquero style comes into play. The Davila’s burger is priced at $8.99.

With Fat Tuesday, March 5, around the corner, it is time to indulge in fun, traditional treats such as the colorful King Cake. San-Antonio-based restaurant/bakery, La Panadería is run by Mexican brothers José and David Cáceres who have always, and will always, continue to embrace bread cultura (culture). (La Panadería, 2019)
La Panadería is already known to provide San Antonians with their tortas, conchas, pan dulce and Rosca De Reyes fix all year long. For the first time ever, the bakery will be preparing a San Antonio spin on New Orleans’ traditional purple, green and gold colored King Cake. La Panadería’s ‘King Cake Rosca’ is their original Rosca de Reyes recipe with a twist: the sweet cake is covered with bright Mardi Gras-colored icing, sprinkles and filled with chocolate chips inside. For those who wish to fill up for Fat Tuesday, the special cake is available now through mid-March.

Culinary Institute of America Bakery Café
The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio Campus started its annual pop-up bakery just in time for Valentine’s Day. The pop-up runs from January 28 through April 11 in the new Savor space. The bakery will offer sweet treats like alfajores, traditional shortbread cookies with a dulce de leche filling that are popular throughout Latin America for $3.50, in addition to other traditional sweets that are perfect to pick up for loved ones.
Davila’s BBQ
Will host a steak dinner for two on Valentine’s Day from 4p.m. to 9p.m. Although steak is not typically on the dinner menu, Davila’s BBQ will offer two steaks from a local vendor, grilled with mesquite wood along with a loaded baked potato and grilled vegetables for $29.99. There will be additional sides and dessert available for purchase.

This Valentine’s Day, The Esquire Tavern & Downstairs at The Esquire Tavern will welcome guests into a flower-filled space and will offer a $20 discount on all bottles of wine, including Downstairs at Esquire’s expertly curated Champagne list.
Krause’s Café and Biergarten Krause’s Café and Biergarten in New Braunfels is celebrating Valentine’s Day with shopping, a special dinner and live music. Visit the pavilion for Krause’s Valentine’s Market on February 14 where guests swinging by the market can shop for their sweethearts. Krause’s Café in partnership with Seekatz Opera House is also hosting You, Your Loved One, and Kinky – a three-course dinner with Sliced Roast Sirloin Beef as the main. This Valentine’s Day dinner features other homemade food from Krause’s, like buttermilk pie for dessert and entertainment from well-known country musician, Kinky Friedman.
Meadow Neighborhood Eatery + Bar
Will host a pre-fixe Valentine’s Day dinner on Thursday, February 14th. Reservations will be required for the Dinner with pricing at $45 per person plus tax and gratuity. The dinner menu will consist of three courses with options that include, but not limited to, House Smoked Salmon with wild onion capers, dill and seed toast, a Cauliflower Soup with crispy kale and valley lemons and Fried Chicken with green garlic, grilled bok choy with crispy rice. Dessert will be included with a Dark Chocolate Caramel Tart and Vanilla Semifreddo on the menu. Meadow has also partnered with Hayward Gaude Photography for Valentine’s Day and they will be offering discounts on couple photography sessions while supplies last.
For those that wish to celebrate Galentine’s Day or do not have time to celebrate on Valentine’s Day, Meadow will host two additional pre-fixe dinners on Tuesday, February 12th and Wednesday, February 13th. Pricing for the pre-fixe menu is at $35 per person plus tax and gratuity with an optional $15 wine pairing. The early Valentine’s Day menu will consist of two courses with options like Arugula Salad with shaved root vegetables, persimmon vinaigrette and Texas Chevre Cheese, Dean + Peeler New York Strip with sweet potato croquette, kale and black garlic. Dessert will be includes a Dark Chocolate Caramel Tart and Vanilla Semifreddo on the menu.
La Panaderia La Panaderia will offer a select dessert special, Con Amor, February 11 through 17 for $6.50. Con Amor can pair perfectly with a beverage including a mimosa, rosé, or champagne (prices on beverages vary). La Panadería is a San Antonio favorite known for its variety of artisan breads, pastries and made-from-scratch tortas, soups and salads. On Friday June 9, co-owners José and David Cáceres will open their second location at 301 E Houston St on the corner of East Houston and Navarro Streets, just minutes away from the San Antonio Riverwalk, Majestic Theatre and the Henry B González Convention Center. Business hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 7a.m. to 8p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 7a.m to 10p.m. (La Panadería, 2017)
The new flagship location is 6,000 square-feet and features a state of the art “bread lab” where customers can watch La Panadería’s production and 48-hour fermentation process in action. Menu items will include more chef-driven dessert options, new café items, a new dinner menu featuring open face pepitos, beer and wine. They will also have the usual menu featuring artisan breads and pastries and house made tortas, soups and salads.
José and David Cáceres opened La Panadería in 2014 hoping to share their Mexican heritage with San Antonio. The bakery specializes in handmade bread and pastries inspired by Mexico’s Golden Era. Other influences include French, Italian and American breadmaking techniques and are filled with love, family and tradition as the brothers bring a slice of their childhood in Mexico to San Antonio.
