Whataburger sauces coming to H-E-B

Whataburger celebrated Cinco de Mayo with the news that they will soon bring fan favorites Picante Sauce and Salsa Verde to shelves at most H-E-B stores this month. These sauces will be available in the hot sauce aisle. The Picante Sauce is perfect for pairing with eggs and bacon in the morning or tacos at lunch. It can also be used for dipping, dabbing or topping just about anything that needs a little spice with this one-of-a-kind sauce. The Salsa Verde provides a mild flavor when it comes to spice. This light green salsa is made from a blend of onions, jalapeños and tomatillos that will make breakfast, lunch or dinner more flavorful. (Whataburger, 2017)

Whataburger announces WhataGames Finalists

Whataburger recently announced the 23 teams advancing to compete during the 2017 WhataGames Finals. Created in 1996, WhataGames is a company tradition committed to enhancing the Whataburger experience for team members and customers. Finalist advanced by proving their knowledge and expertise in operations, company history and customer service. The WhataGames Finals are the featured event during the Whataburger Family Convention which will be held in April at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. This convention hosts Whataburger corporate and regional representatives, franchisees and suppliers and the WhataGames national finalists. (Whataburger, 2017)

The 23 finalist teams advanced from a pool of 126 semifinalists who beat out their competitors among Whataburger’s more than 800 restaurants in 10 states. Teams will face off during three days of high-intensity elimination rounds at the WhataGames Finals where one team will be awarded the Gold Medal and honor of being named WhataGames 2017 Champion. Whataburger will also award more than $200,000 in cash prizes to all members of the Gold, Silver and Bronze winning teams including those who stayed back to operate and manage their stores while their peers represented them in the competition.

Whataburger to host Boots and Badges event

In the past Whataburger has hosted events to bring the community together. On Tuesday March 28 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Whataburger will host a Boots and Badges celebration at the Balcones Heights location on Fredericksburg Road. The celebration is meant to honor the community’s first responders and will feature family friendly activities including tours of Balcones Heights police cars and fire trucks, meet and greet with members from the 100 Club of San Antonio, a face painter and a spin wheel with prize giveaways. Children 12 and under will receive a free kid’s meal. Whataburger App members will also be eligible to register for the Whataburger for a Year drawing where one customer’s name will be drawn to win the ultimate prize-a free Whataburger every week for a year. New Whataburger items available online

whataburgerWhataburger is big in Texas and fans of the franchise might want to take note of the release of two new Whataburger items. One is a new super soft boot themed t-shirt that is comfortable enough for lounging around but lightweight enough to be worn while out and about. A playful nod to the Texas flag and to Whataburger’s designation as a Texas Treasure, an official declaration of the Texas legislature, this blue-gray t-shirt pairs perfectly with boots or flip flop. Price is $19.99 and is available in unisex sizing. The other is Whataburger’s signature Orange & White Stainless Steel Tumbler designed to look like the official Whataburger cup fans know and love. Whataburger Fiesta Medals Pop-Up Store

whataburgerFiestaMedal(5 of 5)Fiesta is right around the corner in San Antonio and for the first time, Whataburger will be hosting a Fiesta Pop-Up Store on Tuesday March 14 at 3p.m. at its downtown location. Customers will be able to purchase their Whataburger medals before they are available online to the public. This year’s medal features Whataburger’s famous fries and ketchup and promises to be the perfect addition to any Fiesta stash. There is a limit of two medals per customer, while supplies last, credit card only.  After that medals will be available for purchase online beginning on Tuesday March 21 for $9.99 each. Whataburger fans will be pleased to hear that Whataburger and H-E-B are releasing Buffalo Sauce, 40-ounce Fancy Ketchup and 40-ounce Spicy Ketchup at H-E-B stores. Customers will now have a new flavor and two long-time fan favorites in a new size. The new Signature Sauces include: Buffalo Sauce – The flavor of the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Strip Sandwich lives on this sauce. It is tasty and buttery and has just the right touch of heat for home-cooked meals. 40-ounce Fancy Ketchup – Originally launched at H-E-B in 2013 in 20-ounce bottles, Whataburger’s Fancy Ketchup now comes in a larger 40-ounce size. On the Facebook fan page, fans have described the condiment as “life-changing,” “best on the planet” and “ketchup of the gods.” 40-ounce Spicy Ketchup – First introduced as a limited-time offer in 2011, Whataburger’s Spicy Ketchup was added to H-E-B shelves in 20-ounce bottles and made permanently available in all restaurants in 2013. Whataburger celebrates renovation of Windcrest location

On Thursday January 19 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Whataburger will host a grand reopening celebration at its remodeled location in Windcrest. Renovations feature state of the art kitchen equipment, double drive-thru lanes and an upgraded dining room. The celebration will include an evening of games and giveaways including the popular Whataburger for a Year drawing where one customer’s name will be drawn to win the ultimate prize-a free Whataburger every week for a year. This week Whataburger announced the much anticipated return of their Buffalo Ranch Chicken Strip Sandwich. As of yesterday and for a limited time only, fans can enjoy their favorite sandwich which is layered with three crispy, all-white meat chicken strips, two slices of Monterey Jack cheese, creamy buttermilk ranch and topped off with Whataburger’s own Buffalo Sauce – all served on a toasted five-inch bun. Military Appreciation Night at Whataburger

In the past Whataburger has hosted events to help out the community and surrounding schools. These events have ranged from “Oh! Whata Nights” to jalapeno eating contests, drawings and raffles. On Wednesday November 16 from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Whataburger is having a ‘Military Appreciation Night’event to celebrate the men and women of the military. The public is invited to come and show their support and attendees with a military ID will be able to enjoy a free Whataburger with the purchase of a medium order of fries and drink. This event will include the popular Whataburger for a Year drawing where one customer’s name will be drawn to win the ultimate prize-a free Whataburger every week for a year.
