“Broken-Into-Pieces” – First, they got rid of the unions. Then they began phasing out experienced minority employees, and replacing them with loyalists. Then they came after her. It sounds like a dystopian novel, but it is not. This is what happened in the Department of Education under Betsy DeVos in the Trump administration. She had been a federal employee for over thirty-six years, twenty of them at the Department of Education. This is her story of survival.
