SAN ANTONIO, TX – St. Paul Square is thrilled to announce the expansion of their Sunday community programming, now known as “Sundays at the Square,” taking place weekly each Sunday from 10a.m. to 2p.m. near downtown San Antonio. (St. Paul Square, 2025)
Following an outpouring of positive feedback from the community during the first few weeks of this family-friendly event series that featured an outdoor Farmers Market and morning yoga, organizers at the historic St. Paul Square have partnered with a pair of local small businesses – Juntos San Antonio and Mobile Om – to elevate the Sunday event series for San Antonians.
With support from Juntos San Antonio, the expanded outdoor market will feature an even greater variety of San Antonio-based vendors and pop-up shops offering seasonal organic produce; artisanal food; baked goods and pastries; coffee, tea, and specialty drinks; locally handcrafted goods; and more. Attendees of all ages can also enjoy live music as they stroll through the district’s charming courtyard, while leashed dogs are more than welcome to join in the Sunday festivities.
Local yoga enthusiasts can enjoy donation-based, all-level friendly classes hosted by Mobile Om, a San Antonio based yoga collective who have been uplifting the city’s local wellness scene for over a decade. Weekend classes will take place each Sunday at 11a.m. inside The Spire, one of St Paul Square’s many historic event spaces. Classes are available on a first come, first served basis based on venue capacity.
This expanded weekly showcase advances St. Paul Square’s mission to transform the historic district into a vibrant destination for food, entertainment, and cultural arts, by fostering community connections and supporting local businesses in San Antonio and its surrounding markets.

The studio focuses on workouts that promote core stability, cardio endurance, and high-intensity strength training. Urban Lagree will open in central San Antonio at 3910 McCullough Avenue in Olmos Park on Monday, June 10, 2024. (Urban Lagree, 2024)

The event will feature health and wellness vendors, giveaways, music by a local DJ, and more.
Urban Lagree offers the popular Lagree Fitness method, a high intensity, low impact workout focused on muscular endurance using a specialized machine called the Megaformer. The Lagree method was started in 1998 by Sebastien Lagree and is a workout that continues to grow globally. It is a celebrity workout that has been adopted by Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian, and many more. Urban Lagree will be the first studio in San Antonio to offer Lagree classes instructed on the latest Megaformer – the Mega Pro – a streamlined version of its predecessor now including tilting platforms.
“We are thrilled to bring Urban Lagree to San Antonio. Nothing can beat the Lagree method when it comes to toning and shaping your body. We look forward to sharing this strength training workout with this new community.” – Lagree Fitness Trainers and Co-Owners Katie Hayes and Abigayle Rosser
Lagree Fitness is the only workout that effectively combines Strength, Endurance, Cardio, Core, Body Stability, and Flexibility in every class. The resistance training targets the slow twitch muscles of the legs, arms, obliques, and core to provide a full body workout. Every move is performed slowly and against constant tension which activates metabolism, and burns fat and calories.
Urban Lagree is a workout meant for everyone. The studio focuses on building a fitness community by delivering consistent workouts that are accessible to all. Whether clients are recovering from injury, taking their fitness goal to the next level, or simply needing a change, Urban Lagree is designed to help. The studio offers a workout that will tone and shape the body by focusing on improving overall strength, endurance, and core stability.
Urban Lagree’s San Antonio location will feature a mural by local artist Joseph Ramey as well as all-new Mega Pro machines that are designed with increased ergonomic capabilities that ensure the client experiences a more targeted workout.
To celebrate its San Antonio launch, Urban Lagree will be offering a limited quantity of Founding Membership that includes unlimited classes for $165 a month as well as a limited 10-Pack class for $175 – there will also be other membership options and drop in rates ($30 per class). Pre-sale for the San Antonio location is now available and clients can view all membership options and rates here.
For the first month following Urban Lagree’s opening, the studio will solely offer its signature 45-minute Full Body workout. In the following months, Urban Lagree will also begin offering classes for the advanced fitness enthusiast, the beginner, private classes, and studio buyouts that can accommodate parties of up to 12. A full list of classes with specifics on the workouts is available here.
Urban Lagree is owned and led by Lagree fitness trainers Abigayle Rosser and Katie Hayes. The pair also own two Urban Lagree fitness studios in Austin and will soon open a third location in South Austin. For 2020, Pearl is excited to announce Thinking & Drinking at Pearl—the newest offering in the array of amazing programming already hosted throughout the year. In addition, Pearl will bring back free weekly fitness sessions open to the public to begin the first week in January and continue into the warmer months. (Pearl, 2019)
Thinking & Drinking at Pearl
Join us for a series of philosophical conversations about music. Why do we listen to sad songs if they make us sad? Should Bob Dylan have been eligible for the Nobel Prize in Literature? If an improvisation is made up on the spot, how can we expect it to sound good? These are just a few philosophical questions about music—fundamental conceptual questions raised by the way we make and listen to music. Led by Trinity University professor Dr. Andrew Kania, guests will get a chance to think through some of these issues out loud—helped along by libations from the best of the Pearl’s drinking establishments. Each session is capped at 15 participants and includes two beverages. Tickets available online.
Wednesday, January 15 at 6p.m. – High Street Wine Co. Sad Songs Say So Much: Music and Emotion – If music is just sounds, how can it be happy or sad? What is the significance of our emotional responses to music? And why do we listen to sad music if it makes us sad?
Wednesday, January 22 at 6p.m. – Southerleigh Strange Sounds: What is Music, Anyway? – Musicians seem to be able to incorporate just about any sounds into their compositions. But what makes those sounds music? How can one note be higher than another? What can the musical experiences of deaf people tell us about music?
Wednesday, January 29 at 8p.m. – Jazz, TX Making Music: Performance, Improvisation and Recording – What is the difference between being overheard making music and performing for an audience? Are recordings just that – records of performances – or are they an art form in their own right? What makes a performance an improvisation? This conversation is followed by a live performance.
Pearl is thrilled to continue free community workout classes led by local fitness providers weekly on Tuesday evenings beginning in 2020. Throughout the year, partners will include Pilates Platinum, Smart Barre, Nomadik Yoga, Zumba with Mau Garcia and Joy Ride.
Tuesday, January 7 | Pilates Platinum | 5:30p.m. | Pearl Park
Tuesday, January 14 | Pilates Platinum | 5:30p.m. | Pearl Park
