These are some of the most popular types of romance novels and often involve a couple overcoming the odds for their happily ever after. Does it sound like your type of romance novel? Then don’t wait and pick up your copy today –  it is currently available exclusively on Amazon. Ava Becker is an up and coming author who finds herself starting most days emerging from a comatose state over a cup of coffee, sneaking bites of morning pancakes from her children, tripping over those same children’s bookbags that seem to dart in front of her on purpose, hoping that her husband took the dog outside for his morning potty break before leaving for work, and making sure people get a good look at her perpetual bedhead as she struts around the house in such fashion for as long as possible. Not scary at all.

She considers herself the luckiest person to be able to write stories of love and passion that illustrate an inexorable connection between her characters. She loves romances that hold your attention and make it impossible to put the book down. She especially delights in a twisty story and she is always apologizing to the poor soul who gets the short end of the stick. Her stories often involve strong, commanding, charismatic men who let themselves be vulnerable to the smart, sexy, lovable women who steal their hearts. Add of dash of humor and, mwah! Parfait! “Bad Boy Billionaire Protector,” her fifth book, is a contemporary romance between college student Amber and graduate student Christos, who is really an undercover FBI agent. (Ava Becker, 2023)

Bad Boy Billionaire Protector” – When grieving college junior Amber meets graduate student Christos following the tragic suicide of her boyfriend, there is an instant and explosive attraction between them. But Christos harbors a shocking secret—he is actually undercover FBI agent Mason King, investigating a string of suspicious deaths, including that of Amber’s deceased boyfriend, and their connection to an elite secret society at Stanford University.

As Mason continues crossing personal and professional lines as he pursues Amber, he soon reveals a stunning revelation that undermines her trust and love for him. At the same time, looming threats from the secret society soon sweep this couple along a dangerous path that could destroy any chance at happiness.

Almost 400,000 children have a hearing disability in the US and they outnumber school interpreters by 41 children to 1 interpreter. Studies show children have a critical period of learning between ages 1 and 5 years when they are ready to acquire a new language. This period is riskier for hard of hearing children, because if they don’t communicate regularly, they can develop language deprivation. To prevent language deprivation, more than 20 states across the country have passed laws to monitor deaf children’s language development, but sign language still isn’t taught in schools.

The need for accessible and engaging resources to help children better understand their deaf peers has caused ProCare Therapy, one of the country’s top sources of school-based therapy, to launch a free digital and downloadable storybook. This new digital storybook helps children learn to sign in six easy steps.

New book release: ‘The In-Between: Life in the Micro’ by Christian Espinosa

‘The In-Between: Life in the Micro’ is the new book by Christian Espinosa. Photo: Christian Espinosa, used with permission.

Regardless of our life experiences, we all have those moments when life starts to make sense. Even then, we should always keep learning and growing as human beings. I like reading biographies and memoirs because the authors share what they have learned in the hopes of inspiring others to improve their lives. In his new memoir, Christian Espinosa shares the journey that transformed him into a compassionate global citizen. In “The In-Between: Life in the Micro,” he explains that some regrets do not hit you all at once. They seep in at the corners of your life, at night or on a long drive, until they become a refrain. Those are the worst regrets of all. Pick up your copy today from Amazon and read all about his fascinating journey.

Christian Espinosa is an esteemed thought leader and best known as the bestselling author of “The Smartest Person in the Room,” a book that explores the limitations of seeking validation through achievement and the desire to be the brightest intellect in any room. He is also a successful entrepreneur, white hat hacker, captivating speaker, real estate investor, and heavy metal enthusiast. With a deep desire to inspire others to harness their innate wisdom, overcome perceived barriers, and summon the courage to tread new paths, Christian has written his latest book, “The In-Between: Life in the Micro.” This book chronicles his remarkable transformation from a “me against the world” mindset, cultivated during his tumultuous upbringing, to his evolution as a compassionate global citizen committed to uplifting humanity. (Christian Espinosa, 2023)

“The In-Between: Life in the Micro” – Christian Espinosa was living in a bubble, and it burst on May 9, 2022. It was the middle of the afternoon. As he and his partner Vanessa approached a major intersection, a blue car accelerated, ran the red light, and T-boned a black truck directly in front of them.

The blue car’s hood crumbled like an accordion to absorb the impact. Within seconds, its front end was completely smashed and its windows were broken. Then everything went out of focus, except for what he needed to do—assess the scene for safety, check on the drivers of the blue car and black truck, and call 911. Nothing else mattered—he felt a heightened sense of purpose.

He had always focused on one macro moment after another—the next mountain to climb or business to start. He had not spent any time appreciating the micro-moments—life in between the macros. He had been living in a macro-moment bubble.

The accident awakened in him a desire to paint a complete picture of who he wanted to be and how he wanted to approach his life. This is his story of learning how to value the in-between and prioritize consciously living in the micro.

New book release: ‘Blue Hills’ by Clifford Shepherd

‘Blue Hills: Book 1 of the Bridge family saga’ is the debut historical fiction novel by Clifford Shepherd. Photo: Amazon

In historical fiction, a fictional story takes place in the setting of particular real historical events. As a huge history fan, I love reading historical fiction because it brings history to life by using relatable characters and some that we love to hate. Family sagas that span several years are especially engaging. Today’s new book release is in this particular genre. Clifford Shepherd’s debut novel “Blue Hills” is the first in the Bridge Family Saga that begins during World War II and promises to touch your heart and leave you with a renewed appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit. If you are a fan of historical fiction, family sagas, historical romances, and war/military action fiction, put this one on your TBR (to be read) list. It is available on Amazon US and Amazon UK.

Clifford Shepherd is a passionate writer whose journey begins with his debut novel “Blue Hills.” This marks the inception of a remarkable saga that will take readers on a captivating adventure, spanning from the past to the present day. Clifford’s love for the written word has been a lifelong affair, but it was a pivotal moment during a long walk with his eldest son, Cyrus, that gave him the nudge to put pen to paper. “Just do it,” his son urged, and one year later, Clifford proudly presents his first book to the world.

While crafting compelling stories, Clifford also manages a demanding day job as a senior analyst – a testament to the dedication of many indie authors who balance their creative pursuits with professional careers. Beyond his writing, Clifford’s interests extend to video editing, creating podcasts, and hosting a weekly radio show on Salford City Radio FM. Join Clifford Shepherd on his literary voyage, as he combines his diverse talents and passion for storytelling to bring you engaging narratives that will stand the test of time. (Clifford Shepherd, 2023)

“Blue Hills: Book 1 of the Bridge family saga” – The Bridge family is about to face their toughest test in generations. One they may not all survive.

Albert Bridge’s love story with Gloria begins on a high note, but fate has different plans when duty calls him away from his bride. As he finds himself thrust into the chaos of the Pacific theater during WWII, their enduring bond is put to the test.

“Blue Hills” follows the Bridges through the war-torn days to the vibrant era of the 1950s. While love may face its share of trials, and the shadows of a criminal underworld loom, the heart of this family beats strongly. With laughter as their armor and unity as their shield, they demonstrate that no matter how daunting the odds, family bonds can conquer all. It is a reminder that even the faintest glimmer of humor and the warmth of togetherness can pierce through the bleakest of times.

Medical thrillers are some of my favorite novels to read, specifically Michael Palmer, Robin Cook, and Patricia Cornwell. I have read almost all of Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta novels, so I am excited for her new release: “Unnatural Death.”

Patricia Cornwell sold her first novel, “Postmortem,” while working at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond, Virginia. An auspicious debut, it went on to win the Edgar, Creasey, Anthony, and Macavity Awards, as well as the French Prix du Roman d’Aventures—the first book ever to claim all these distinctions in a single year. Growing into an international phenomenon, the Scarpetta series won Cornwell the Sherlock Award for best detective created by an American author, the Gold Dagger Award, the RBA Thriller Award, and the Medal of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters for her contributions to literary and artistic development. Today, Cornwell’s novels and iconic characters are known around the world. Her interests range from the morgue to artificial intelligence and include visits to Interpol, the Pentagon, the U.S. Secret Service and NASA. Her new book “Unnatural Death” is the 27th book in the Scarpetta series and involves two mauled bodies in the woods, top secret autopsies, and the most chilling cases of Scarpetta’s career. It will be released November 28, 2023. (Amazon, 2023)

After one of the most frightening body retrievals of her career, Scarpetta must discover who would commit murders this savage, and why.

While I like all types of books, one of my favorite genres is historical fiction because I love history. Historical fiction features a story that takes place in or involves a historically important time period. Today’s new book release, “The Deseret Reckoning” by Matthew L Huffman centers around Susan, an ambitious young woman at the Smithsonian Museum whose life takes a surprising turn when she discovers a series of letters dating back to 1870 that involve a wagon train and a hidden mine. With plenty of action and adventure, this suspenseful work of literary fiction is available on Amazon and is sure to please fans of the genre.

He is a full time professional land surveyor in the front range areas of Colorado, where he calls Arvada home. Huffman holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of South Florida, a philosophy major. A Pandemic novella, “Of Dice and Men” (2019), was his first published work. “The Deseret Reckoning” (2023) is his first full-length novel. This latest stunning release is a tale based in history and told through the eyes of Susan Kingsley, a shy yet bold museum assistant in the midst of change, displacement, and growth. (Matthew L Huffman, 2023)

“The Deseret Reckoning” – Susan Kingsley is a historical acquisitions assistant with career ambitions at the Smithsonian Museum. She shares an apartment with her ex-husband, FBI special agent Andrew Harrison. Susan has discovered copies of a series of letters from 1870 describing a wagon train from Santa Fe, New Mexico, bound for the Deseret Territory, the Mormon lands prior to Utah statehood, and a hidden mine.

The new owner of the letters, twenty-seven-year-old Tom Sullivan, a distant relative of the recipient, joins two older friends on a camping trip to discover the source of the letters. While Susan tracks Tom and his letters across Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah, Andrew tails her every step. After a chance encounter with Kat, a friendly face at a challenging time, a bolder, fiercer Susan emerges.

As Susan’s character arc grows, Andrew’s arc delves from petty disagreements to all-out fraud and deception, a cop with a grudge. What secrets will be revealed? What has been hidden in the mine? Will Susan succeed, or will Andrew sabotage her efforts and commit the ultimate crime?
