Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk invites you to an unforgettable dining event as part of the hotel’s new Skyline Dining Series, a showcase where San Antonio’s favorite chefs come together to create a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. The inaugural event will take place at Thompson’s enchanting rooftop restaurant, The Moon’s Daughters, on Friday, October 24th at 6:30p.m., where guests will indulge in a specialty four-course meal while supporting a meaningful cause. (Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk, 2024)

Perched high above the River Walk, The Moon’s Daughters offers sweeping panoramic views of the San Antonio skyline and the evening will feature a curated menu by four top chefs, each known for their distinctive flavors and culinary excellence. 25% of the proceeds from this event will benefit Texas Wings, a nonprofit that supports uninsured breast cancer patients across Central and South Texas.

Chef David Arciniega: Executive Chef of Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk, Chef David oversee the hotel’s culinary program, from weddings and events to its signature dining venues, The Moon’s Daughters, Landrace, and Cenote Pool Deck. Prior to joining Thompson, Chef David served as Taskforce Chef at Hyatt’s renowned Hana Maui Resort; Executive Chef at Texas State University, planning banquet menus and overseeing private events; Manager & Sommelier at Maverick Texas Brasserie; Chef and Owner at Amaya’s Cocina; and Beverage Director at Botika at The Pearl Brewery. Chef David has been honored with numerous awards for his culinary expertise and he inspires the team at Thompson with his infectious passion for culinary innovation and exceptional guest service.

Chef Tatu Herrera: Owner of Folklore’s Coffee House and Executive Chef at Spring Garden Restaurant, Chef Tatu is celebrated for his innovative dishes that blend local and global flavors. Guide to Summer Fun: Must-Attend Events in San Antonio

Floating high above the River Walk is The Moon’s Daughters, an enchanting indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge and bar that dazzles from its 20th-story perch over the city. This summer, from July 22 to August 21, The Moon’s Daughters will be keeping it cool with a Paleteria Pop-Up Bar in partnership with local ice cream shop Paleteria San Antonio. From fruity flavors to sweet treats made with Chamoy and Tajin, indulge in San Antonio’s favorite flavors. The bar will also be transformed into a Paleteria with happy, colorful decor, perfect for photo opportunities at every corner.

The Rambler team will be on the floor starting Thursday, July 25 through Sunday, July 28 providing samples and selling cases of Rambler at a discounted rate for lucky shoppers.

Spring in San Antonio brings a solar eclipse and Fiesta

As April approaches, there will be plenty of events happening in San Antonio. Since it falls in the path of the 2024 solar eclipse on April 8, all eyes will be on Texas. San Antonio will be one of the few cities to witness the totality of the solar eclipse and Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk is hosting a celestial themed Solar Brunch on the rooftop with signature cocktails to watch the moon as it passes between the sun and the Earth. Then at the end of the month, the annual San Antonio Fiesta returns, showcasing the city’s rich Latin heritage and culture with Thompson playing host to a neighborhood Block Party. Solar Eclipse

Experience the highly anticipated solar eclipse set to cross the U.S in 2024, as San Antonio will be one of the few cities to witness a total eclipse. On April 8, total darkness will be cast as the sun’s rays will be blocked by the passing moon, which won’t occur again until 2045. San Antonio, being the largest city in the path of totality, is a prime place for visitors to witness the natural phenomenon as tours and campgrounds are already being reserved. 

From Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk, a modern retreat soaring 20 stories above San Antonio’s celebrated River Walk, guests can witness the Solar Eclipse. Signature restaurant The Moon’s Daughters, inspired by the Greek goddess of the moon, will be hosting a Solar Brunch from 11a.m. – 1:30p.m. on April 8. Guests and locals alike are invited to the enchanting indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge and bar that dazzles from its 20th-story perch over the city for a special celestial experience. To celebrate the extraordinary event, the brunch will include themed cocktails, entertainment, as well as custom Solar Eclipse glasses for all guests to enjoy. 

Fiesta

San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration is one of the largest festivals in the U.S., providing countless special events that showcase the city’s rich Latin heritage and culture. The tradition of celebrating Fiesta started in 1891 as a parade event to share memories with loved ones and honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. The city’s signature event, which is sponsored by various nonprofit organizations, returns to San Antonio for another year with a festival from April 18-28, 2024.

Guests of Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk will have a perfect view of the Flambeau parade on the San Antonio River Walk, America’s largest illuminated parade featuring decorated floats, musical performances, food, and more. Potluck Hospitality is excited to announce that Carriqui (239 E. Grayson St) will debut its New Year’s Eve House Party on December 31, 2022. In addition to standard dinner service (last seating at 9p.m.), the house party will  kick off at 10p.m. and run until 2a.m. In anticipation of 2023, Carriqui is taking inspiration from the building’s past as Boehler’s Garden. Fifty years ago, the historic building that is now Carriqui was owned and operated by Aubrey Kline and his brothers. Kline was affectionately known as “Mr. Pearl,” entertaining and hobnobbing with movie stars, politicians, and dignitaries. Upon his retirement from Pearl in 1972, he turned his attention to making Boehler’s Garden the place for a good time. 

Carriqui’s NYE House Party turns up the volume on good times and pays homage to the 1970s (period attire encouraged, but not required). Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased through Tock. The experience includes live music from beloved local favorites Buttercup and DJ Steven Lee Moya, appetizer stations, a champagne toast at midnight and breakfast tacos as a parting gift.

This year’s theme is “Celestial Ball,” paying tribute to the Goddess of the Moon, Celine. Perched on the 20th floor of the hotel floating high above the River Walk, The Moon’s Daughters dazzles with views of the twinkling city lights of the San Antonio skyline. Guests will dance the night away with celebrity performer DJ JAX, who has spun for the Latin Grammy’s WMC, UMF, and many other festivals and has recently opened for the Chainsmokers.

Several Table Packages, named after the hotel’s monthly cosmic night series, will range from $400 to $100,000; the ultimate experience includes flights and a three-night stay at any other Hyatt property in the world. Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk’s signature rooftop lounge, The Moon’s Daughters, will host another Cosmic Night on October 9. This ongoing monthly series takes place whenever a full moon lands each month and will return for October’s hunter’s moon, which will be the first full moon of fall. October’s unique full moon has been nicknamed the hunter’s moon because, traditionally, it is the time of year when hunters start collecting food for the winter. (Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk, 2022)
