Tee Off in Style: Holey Moley Golf Club Brings Fun and Adventure to San Antonio

San Antonio, TX-  The highly anticipated Holey Moley Golf Club is thrilled to announce its official San Antonio opening this Friday, December 6. Located in the heart of San Antonio’s River Walk, the 12,000 square foot entertainment venue brings twenty-seven holes of mini golf over three courses, two karaoke rooms, a full bar and restaurant, and alfresco patio seating along the riverfront to the Shops at Rivercenter. (Holey Moley Golf Club, 2024)

Known for its innovative approach to leisure, Australian-based parent company Funlab has already brought Holey Moley’s unique brand of fun to Denver, Austin, Houston, and San Francisco, creating a haven where nostalgia, social energy, and analog entertainment collide. 

The San Antonio location will have signature favorite holes like Smells Like Tee Spirit, a journey through a vintage tape collection, Making It Rain, a battle of the elements to escape a wind vortex spinning “dollar bills” through the air, and Ferris Wheeler’s Day Off, a game of chance through multiple levels, evading the cars of a rotating Ferris wheel to a hole in one. It will also have new and unique holes like Par Tee Time, a mission to jump over red Solo cups in a play on the classic party game Beer Pong, and Tee-haw, a Wild West themed hole behind ‘pars’ with Instagram worthy opportunities to capture pics in ‘Wanted’ posters and surprise sound effects like explosions, quacks, moos, and farts. 

The Caddyshack offers guests a chance to refuel with Texan takes on Americana classics, like BBQ Brikey Loaded Fries with cheddar, chili queso and slaw; Taco Salad with romaine lettuce, fresh tomato, black beans, Texas ground beef, cheddar, guac, sour cream, and fire roasted salsa; and Grilled Elote Corn Ribs with cotija cheese, garlic aioli, Tajín and lime. The menu also includes brick-oven pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and more.

For drinks, signature cocktails are served in playful vessels, like the Rub A Dub in the Tub with gin, Aperol, lime, and peach in a bathtub-shaped cup, topped with prosecco “bubbles,” dried rose petals, and rubber duckies; Pop Till You Drop with vodka, lime, watermelon, and bubbles served in a ceramic unicorn, and Cadillac Disco, a shareable large format cocktail served in a disco ball with reposado tequila, Grand Marnier with lime. San Antonio exclusives include the new Big Texas, a frozen slushie featuring Big Red cream soda and vanilla, with the option to add Tito’s vodka for a boozy treat. Guests can also enjoy signature shooters in cowboy boot shot glasses, local beers, classic cocktails and zero-proof options.

New San Antonio rock ‘n’ roll bar Gimme Gimme announces opening date

Gimme Gimme, a new rock ‘n’ roll bar coming to San Antonio, is excited to announce its official opening day, slated for Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Adjacent to the bar will be the concept A Perfect Day, a modern neighborhood wine bar, which will open on the same day. (Gimme Gimme, 2023)

Leading this exciting new concept are bar owners Roger Herr of Bar Loretta and Aaron Peña of Amor Eterno. Partners Michael Neff and Chef Paul Petersen of Bar Loretta will be overseeing the menu efforts, with Neff focusing on the bar program and Petersen leading the kitchen.

Gimme Gimme (think Ramones), will offer a rock ‘n’ roll experience with craft cocktails, a robust beer and wine list, and chef-driven food in the space formerly occupied by Francis Bogside.

“Growing up in San Antonio, I’ve always known our city as the home of rock ‘n’ roll. The inspiration for Gimme Gimme comes from wanting to create our own version of what we think a rock ‘n’ roll bar can be. Great music, great food, great cocktails, great service, and always a sense of humor. I’m super excited to share what our team has created,” said Owner Roger Herr.

The adjacent space, A Perfect Day, will offer a wine-forward, relaxed atmosphere with small bites, ready-made cocktails, and plenty of wine.

“I’m really looking forward to adding another space to Southtown that will be a totally different direction than our respective concepts that Roger and I are known for,” said Owner Aaron Peña. “Musically, the 14-year-old punk rocker version of my younger self is really excited to help curate the selection of tunes we will feature inside both Gimme Gimme and A Perfect Day – I think the neighborhood is going to love having an additional late night food and beverage option in the most walkable neighborhood in San Antonio.”

Yesterday Twin Liquors announced the grand opening of its newest location in Alamo Heights. The store will be located in the same shopping center it is currently in, but will be moving into the old Stein Mart location at 99 E Basse Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. WonderSlice at Pearl to open next week

Potluck Hospitality and Chef Ben Schwartz are excited to announce that WonderSlice, the first pizza concept at Pearl, is opening at the Food Hall on Monday, June 27. WonderSlice pays tribute to the heyday of neighborhood pizza joints. The name conveys a sense of nostalgia, with a promise of “wonder by the slice.” The new restaurant is accessible and playful; its offerings include fresh pizza by the slice made onsite, full pies, homemade subs, salads, and soft serve ice cream. Select menu items include the Ball Park pizza which includes Italian sausage, red onion, broccoli rabe, and chili flakes; the Green Monster pizza with parmesan cream, shredded zucchini, and pesto; and the Meatball or Chicken Parmesan sub with marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, parmesan, and basil.

Good Dog Boarding & Walks opening in Pearl neighborhood next week

Good Dog, a new 1,850 square foot dog walking, boarding, and daycare facility in the Pearl neighborhood, will open for service Wednesday, December 8 just in time for the holidays. The facility is owned and operated by Steven and Kaylee Bell, who have moved back home to South Texas after running a successful doggy daycare in Dallas. Good Dog is intentionally designed to be a safe and fun environment for smaller dogs, weighing 35 lbs. or less or measuring under 15” in height at the shoulder, but will provide walks for dogs of all sizes. “We’re really looking forward to being a part of the Pearl neighborhood and being able to serve the dogs and dog owners here. We have a wonderful space where every decision was made to create a great experience for smaller dogs – we hope the community loves it!” – Co-Owner Steven Bell.

Good Dog’s daycare and walk services are based on a monthly membership, while boarding services are offered to guests at a nightly rate. Additional enrichment play and one-on-one time with dogs is available as an add-on as well. Though the boarding and daycare services apply to smaller dogs only due to space limitations, thirty minute and one hour walks are available for dogs of all sizes and take place throughout the Pearl neighborhood and museum reach of the San Antonio River Walk. Amor Eterno, a new craft cocktail bar concept, is excited to announce its grand opening date in Southtown in downtown San Antonio on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 5p.m. to 12a.m. Amor Eterno will offer an elevated experience of craft cocktails and food in an intimate setting and atmosphere, paying homage to family history and the city’s culture. Developed by local bar owners Aaron Peña (owner of The Squeezebox) and Brian Correa (owner of Bar America), Amor Eterno is in the space formerly occupied by Don Martin’s Coffee Co. The entire food menu is being developed in partnership with ¡Bucho!, a popular pop-up concept that focuses on chef-inspired “Tejano street fare.” The food menu includes Ceviche Wonton Tacos, Pinche Hot Chicken Tacos, Tejano Cubano, Ol’ Fashion Donut, and more. The cocktail program, overseen by Peña, will offer handcrafted cocktails including the ‘Who’s That Lady’ featuring gin, PX sherry, lemon, orgeat, and Peychaud bitters; ‘Noches de Amor’ featuring tequila, lime, strawberry, angostura bitters and bubbles, and other house and classic cocktails. A curated selection of wine and beer will also be available. 

Amor Eterno is located at 540 S. Presa St. and the hours of operation will be Wednesday – Thursday: 5p.m. to 12a.m., Friday – Saturday: 5p.m. to 2a.m., and Sunday: 1p.m. to 10p.m. Closed Monday & Tuesday.

Burgerim, the new eatery serving sensibly-sized gourmet burgers, is now open in Ingram Park Mall. With a build-your-own burger concept, this rapidly growing fast-casual franchise will celebrate the grand opening this Friday October 19 from 5p.m. to 9p.m. with free burgers, giveaways and more. New to town, Burgerim serves customizable sensibly-sized burgers in uno, duo and trio packages or party box of sixteen. Boasting millions of flavor profiles and eleven different patty options, including beef, dry aged beef, wagyu, merguez, salmon, veggie, lamb, turkey, chicken, falafel and more with gourmet toppings such as sautéed mushrooms, pineapple and sunny-side up eggs.

Seersucker Distillery is hosting a Cinco de Derby Party on Saturday May 5 to celebrate their grand opening.

The makers of San Antonio’s own Seersucker Southern Style Gin are celebrating the grand opening of Seersucker Distillery with a Cinco de Mayo party and viewing of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday May 5 from 12p.m. to 9p.m. The public is invited to the recently remodeled 5,000 square-foot distillery to watch the race on an outdoor video wall. This Seersucker Distillery Cinco de Derby Party is free to enter, open to all ages and dog-friendly for well-behaved pets on leashes.
