Registration for a chance to compete began on February 25 and ends on March 10. Teams are made up of four golfers, and players must be at least 21 years to participate. Winning teams at the March 25 City Championships will be offered travel accommodations to compete at the State Final in Austin on April 8. The State Final will consist of 18 holes (two courses).
Each team will play a round of nine holes, with a maximum of +6 strokes per hole to be kept score by an official caddy. Penalties will be dealt for off-course balls as well as interference, and in the event of a tiebreaker, one lucky team member will play an extra hole. The team with the lowest combined score wins.

When the duo gets invited to a party hosted by The Squirrelles—a trio of fun-loving, singing squirrels—it seems like the makings of a perfect day. But Gerald is worried this big opportunity might create big problems for their friendship. Piggie does not share her elephant pal’s concern, in fact, she’s even happier and more excited than usual. In order for both the friends to have a good time, they must work (and sing and dance) together to overcome obstacles and help each other on a day when anything is possible.
“Gerald and Piggie couldn’t be more different—one is cautious and thoughtful, while the other is playful and impulsive,” says director Jenny Lavery. “But their bond shows us that differences don’t divide us, instead they can bring us closer together.” Lavery directs Ethan Hart (Gerald) and Sami Serrano (Piggie), as well as Amy Bouquet, Lexie Williams, and Hannah Rodriguez as the Squirrelles. Sarah Bailey serves as musical director and Tanesha Payne is the production’s choreographer for the vibrant musical numbers.
Audiences ages 3 and up will get a kick out of this funny, heartwarming story of two friends navigating life’s unexpected occasions. Throughout the musical’s run, Magik Theatre is providing plenty of ways to have a day out just as exciting and special as the one Piggie and Gerald embark on. February’s Elephant and Piggie workshop will introduce students to acting through exciting games and exercises, with the chance to rehearse short scenes as well.
With the recent opening of a dedicated quiet room, Magik continues its commitment to making theatre accessible to everyone. The quiet room, which officially opened in late 2024, includes cozy, specialized furniture, calming decor, a TV broadcasting the current performance in real time, and sensory toys to allow overwhelmed or overstimulated audience members to easily take a break from the show without missing out on the rest of the theatre experience. Following an evening of Jazz, Hotel Contessa will feature the work of over a dozen artists – including a variety of paintings, prints, jewelry, home décor, and more – along with a solo art exhibition from Mary Carmen Sessions and live music from Kyle Broll. Sessions is a Mexican-American artist who has called San Antonio home for over 20 years. Passionate about pushing the boundaries of traditional art, Sessions constantly experiments with different mediums, techniques and materials to create one-of-a-kind pieces infused with her rich Mexican culture.
From 11:30a.m. to 3p.m., the show will take place at the bottom level of the hotel, which overlooks the San Antonio River Walk, in the Atrium and Cypress Room. The event is free to the public and proceeds from the event will be donated to Fireman Sam’s candidacy for River Walk King.

SAN ANTONIO, TX – PechaKucha San Antonio – the global arts and culture series that hosts speakers who share their passions in a unique format – is excited to announce its Volume 45 as the final event in the 2024 series. The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown San Antonio (308 Ave E, San Antonio, TX 78205). The night begins with a welcome reception at 6:30p.m., followed by presentations starting at 7:30 p.m. (PechaKucha San Antonio, 2024)
The historic Scottish Rite building was completed in 1924 and serves as the headquarters and meeting place for the Scottish Rite Masonry in San Antonio and for the South Texas region, as well as frequently used for performing arts and other cultural events.

The evening’s emcee will be poet and author Jenny Browne – she has served as the Poet Laureate of both the City of San Antonio and State of Texas, and is a Professor of English and Creative Writing at Trinity University. The welcome reception will feature live music by musicians from the San Antonio Philharmonic. The San Antonio Philharmonic musicians are not only professionals, they are friends and neighbors, working to cultivate the vibrant arts culture that represents the community we all love.
The welcome reception will also include complimentary bites by San Antonio chefs and restaurants including in-kind sponsors Tandem, Naco Mexican Grayson, Beacon Hill Deli, and Olla Express. Additionally the event will feature cocktails available for purchase curated by local bar Amor Eterno.

A note on venue accessibility: The historic Scottish Rite has stairs leading up to the event space; for an accessibility option from the street level, there will be a livestream watch room available on the ground floor ballroom.
Pronounced “PEH-chuh KOO-chuh,” PechaKucha is a 20 image x 20 second arts and cultures series. We host speakers who share their passions in a unique format: Each presenter gets exactly 20 images, and each slide advances automatically every 20 seconds (for a total time of 6:40).
San Antonio’s first quarterly PechaKucha Night was held in February 2011 and now attracts hundreds of attendees to venues throughout San Antonio. It showcases a broad range of individuals, including architects, artists, makers, academics, community leaders and more. PechaKucha (Japanese for “chit chat”) is an event format developed by Tokyo’s Klein Dytham Architecture to encourage creative professionals to share projects and ideas that they are passionate about. Since it began in 2003, PechaKucha has expanded to more than 1200 cities around the world.

San Antonio, TX- The highly anticipated Holey Moley Golf Club is thrilled to announce its official San Antonio opening this Friday, December 6. Located in the heart of San Antonio’s River Walk, the 12,000 square foot entertainment venue brings twenty-seven holes of mini golf over three courses, two karaoke rooms, a full bar and restaurant, and alfresco patio seating along the riverfront to the Shops at Rivercenter. Known for its innovative approach to leisure, Australian-based parent company Funlab has already brought Holey Moley’s unique brand of fun to Denver, Austin, Houston, and San Francisco, creating a haven where nostalgia, social energy, and analog entertainment collide.
The San Antonio location will have signature favorite holes like Smells Like Tee Spirit, a journey through a vintage tape collection, Making It Rain, a battle of the elements to escape a wind vortex spinning “dollar bills” through the air, and Ferris Wheeler’s Day Off, a game of chance through multiple levels, evading the cars of a rotating Ferris wheel to a hole in one. It will also have new and unique holes like Par Tee Time, a mission to jump over red Solo cups in a play on the classic party game Beer Pong, and Tee-haw, a Wild West themed hole behind ‘pars’ with Instagram worthy opportunities to capture pics in ‘Wanted’ posters and surprise sound effects like explosions, quacks, moos, and farts.
The Caddyshack offers guests a chance to refuel with Texan takes on Americana classics, like BBQ Brikey Loaded Fries with cheddar, chili queso and slaw; Taco Saladwith romaine lettuce, fresh tomato, black beans, Texas ground beef, cheddar, guac, sour cream, and fire roasted salsa; and Grilled Elote Corn Ribs with cotija cheese, garlic aioli, Tajín and lime. The menu also includes brick-oven pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and more.
For drinks, signature cocktails are served in playful vessels, like the Rub A Dub in the Tub with gin, Aperol, lime, and peach in a bathtub-shaped cup, topped with prosecco “bubbles,” dried rose petals, and rubber duckies; Pop Till You Drop with vodka, lime, watermelon, and bubbles served in a ceramic unicorn, and Cadillac Disco, a shareable large format cocktail served in a disco ball with reposado tequila, Grand Marnier with lime. San Antonio exclusives include the new Big Texas, a frozen slushie featuring Big Red cream soda and vanilla, with the option to add Tito’s vodka for a boozy treat. Guests can also enjoy signature shooters in cowboy boot shot glasses, local beers, classic cocktails and zero-proof options.
