‘Love in Hopeless Places’ is the new romance novel by Mitchell Megaley
Mitchell Megaley is a romance and fiction Australian-based author who began writing at a very young age, guided by his creativity. While he was growing up, his parents restored an old brewery, which also had been a village school and a farm. Fascinated by his environment and its happenings, this fueled his inspiration for writing after wandering through stories of his new home’s previous owners. Mitchell became fond of making notes and consolidating the patchworks into more extended stories that he would rather keep for himself. He nurtured a great passion for writing and was compelled to let others in on his archive of drafts. Mitchell Megaley began distributing more elaborated stories to the inhabitants of the surrounding villages and cities, introducing them to his world of possibilities. He moved to Australia on a journey of self-discovery. Mitchell’s books are comprised of stories inspired by his past and new experiences in Australia, accompanied by unparalleled creativity. Mitchell paints the awe-inspiring landscape of Australia in the minds of his audience in form of mouth-watering literature on each page.
In his new book released this month, ‘Love in Hopeless Places: Her Dangerous Experiment,’ will Alexa and Jude live happily ever after, or does the hopelessness of dangerous circumstances make theirs the cautionary tale of once in a lifetime love that was too good to last? (Mitchell Megaley, 2022)
‘Love in Hopeless Places: Her Dangerous Experiment’ – Alexa Williams lived a simple life. As an athlete and a programmer, she had her troubles and had always pushed through…but this time was different. She definitely was not looking for love, nor was she looking to get mixed up in any ugly dealings, but when they say love is found in hopeless places, this could easily have been what they had in mind.
Forcefully taken away from her home and all that she was familiar with for a dangerous experiment that threatened her life, things could not be more hopeless. And as for love…
Jude was careless with a lot of things, including his finances, and it was this carelessness that led him to the mess in which he now found himself. He needed solutions and he needed money—lots of it and fast. So, when a job as a researcher for a deadly project became his latest opportunity, it was an offer he could not refuse. It was never part of the plan to get head over heels distracted, but there is no other way to describe his situation once he set eyes on the beautiful Alexa.
Things heated up fast, and now it seems like it is all about to come crashing down. He is stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea, and now Jude must choose between what he desperately needs and what he desires more than anything.
A Peloton of One, the award-winning sexual abuse survivor documentary, opens with a limited virtual theatrical release followed by a nationwide Video On Demand release March 11. Courtesy photo, used with permission.
Global Digital Releasing has acquired worldwide rights to directors John Bernardo and Steven E. Mallorca’s powerful documentary A Peloton of One, with plans for a limited virtual theatrical via Laemmle Theaters beginning February 18 and nationwide Video On Demand March 11, 2022. (Global Digital Releasing, 2022)
Winner of The JP Morgan Chase Audience Award at the Greenwich International Film Festival, A Peloton of One is a documentary film about surviving childhood sexual abuse, focusing on the next chapter in the survivors’ story – what happens after victims come forward. The film follows Dave Ohlmuller who conducts a solo bicycle ride from Chicago to New York, meeting a variety of other survivors and legal advocates along the way.
A Peloton of One was an official selection at the Golden Door International Film Festival, New Jersey Documentary Film Festival, and Jersey Shore Film Festival.
“We are so proud to have the opportunity to bring this powerful and inspiring documentary to a global audience. This isn’t a story of just surviving, this is a story of strength, resilience and hope.” – Digital Releasing President, Joe Dain.
“Sexually abused at 12 years old by a priest in his New Jersey parish, Dave Ohlmuller set out on a sprawling solo bicycle ride from Chicago to New York to inspire other Survivors to come forward and tell their own stories, as well as educate the masses (and himself) on the impacts of this scourge. Along this 700-mile journey, Dave meets other survivors abused by coaches, teachers, family members, and like Dave himself, Catholic priests. Through these interactions and common stories, Dave tries to find a way to connect and heal, mile by mile, as he heads back east towards his childhood home.
A ‘peloton’ is a cycling term that simply means a group of riders. But Dave Ohlmuller started his journey as a peloton of one. Like so many sexual abuse victims, he believed he was alone in his despair. At the end of this journey, he realized he is now part of a much greater whole, a true PELOTON OF ONE, dedicated to helping the millions of survivors of childhood sexual abuse in this country and across the globe.” – Directors John Bernardo and Steven E. ‘The Snowy Day’ opens at the Magik Theatre on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Photo: Magik Theatre, used with permission.
The enchanting moments of a child’s world will be lovingly and humorously displayed when Magik Theatre presents ‘The Snowy Day and Other Stories’ by Ezra Jack Keats from February 12 to March 19, 2022. The musical play will be adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston and produced by special arrangement with Plays for New Audiences, a division of Children’s Theatre Company. (Magik Theatre, 2022)
Drawing from three of Keats’ beloved works—”The Snowy Day,” “Whistle for Willie,” “Googles!” and “A Letter to Amy”—the production celebrates childhood joys and the challenges of growing up. All of the stories capture the special moment of eye-opening discovery and innocent wonder shared by any child delighted by a snowy landscape.
Surprises abound as Keats’ treasured characters come to life when they experience the magic and boundless possibilities. Peter discovers new and unexpected things every day while witnessing his first snowfall. He and his friends romp and play, starting snowball fights and making snow angels. Experience the wonder as Peter discovers the joy of whistling for the first time. Marvel at the surprise of discovering old treasures in the outdoors. Share in the excitement of writing the perfect letter to a friend. And much more.
‘The Snowy Day’ will feature an all African-American local cast. Keats received the 1963 Caldecott Medal for his collage artwork in this work, which was the first picture book with an African-American protagonist to win a major children’s book award.
The play, which is recommended for ages 3 and up, will be presented every Saturday and Sunday from February 12 to March 19 at Magik Theatre in Hemisfair, 420 S. Alamo in San Antonio. Performance times vary. Programs and dates are subject to change.
Tickets are now on sale. Single tickets are on sale now for $25 per adult and children $20 for ages 3 to 17, educators, military, students and seniors. Children under 2 must sit on an adult’s lap. If a child under 2 uses a seat, even a car or booster seat, the patron must pay for a general-admission ticket. Group rates are available to parties of eight or more people.
Flex passes can be used for any school and public performance. For 10 tickets, the cost is $170 ($17 per ticket, a savings of 32 percent off single ticket prices) and for 20 tickets, the cost is $300 ($15 per ticket, a savings of 40 percent off single ticket prices).

Québécois singer-songwriter Geneviève Racette announces her third full-length album Satellite. The bilingual LP will be available March 18. Courtesy photo, used with permission.
Montreal-born and raised singer-songwriter Geneviève Racette was destined to find herself on stage and in recording studios from day one. Her mom taught her piano at home and her dad was passionate about all things music; her sister was a pianist and vocalist and her brother a guitarist and trumpet player. Racette developed a healthy love for music at home and then decided to refine those skills as an adult, and the personal and critical results have been resounding. On March 18, 2022, Racette is due to release her third full-length album, Satellite. (Geneviève Racette, 2021)
Adding to an ever-developing and highly-praised bilingual catalog, Satellite is a 9-song collection, delivering honest stories of self-discovery and reflection through the cycle of love. Filled with intimate vocals, lush instruments, and expressive harmonies, Racette’s new album evokes moments of love, heartbreak, healing, forgiveness, and ultimately, falling in love again. Racette has shared two singles from the album thus far; the reverb-drenched, earnest longing of “Maybe” and “Les adieux,” which translates to “Farewells” in English. Fans can hear both singles now at this link and pre-order or pre-save Satellite ahead of its March 18 release right here.
In addition to the announcement of Satellite, Racette is hitting the road again in 2022. Dates in both Canada and the States have been announced, including a rescheduled opening slot for City and Colour’s sold-out Montreal show on February 13.
